Eight (08) new cane varieties have been registered with the Federal Seed Certification and Registration (FSCR) Department, Islamabad as an initial step towards formal variety approval for commercial cultivation.
Furthermore, complete data for two primary candidates—S-2010 CPSG-2525 and S-2013 SLSG-1283—has been completed under the National Uniform Varietal Yield Trials (NUVYT). Both varieties have successfully performed the Distinctness, Uniformity, and Stability (DUS) test for two consecutive years.
